Mura Masa teams up with Christine and the Queens on the steel drum-infused “Second 2 None”
Debuting as Annie Mac’s Hottest Record on Radio 1, “Second 2 None” sees Mura Masa enlisting the inimitable Christine and the Queens on vocal duties.
“Second 2 None” is a mesmerising new cut from the Guernsey-born producer, who has previously worked with Charli XCX, Bonzai, A$AP Rocky, Shura, and more on his viral singles.
The new track, described by Annie Mac as “pretty compelling [and] everything you want it to be,” pairs Mura Musa’s sophisticated electronic stylings with Letissier’s quirky vocals and lyrics. Opening with gentle steel drums that give way to minimal electronics, it’s a departure from Mura Masa’s usual dancefloor-filling formula. Nonetheless, its delicate, subtle approach - reflecting the looping Bollywood sample over which Letissier wrote the track - provides a welcome contrast to previous singles’ intensity.
Mura Masa plays Brixton Academy on 18 October.
