Matmos share two new songs featuring Yo La Tengo, Giant Swan and more
Matmos have shared two more tracks from their upcoming LP The Consuming Flame: Open Exercises In Group Form - "lo! Lavendar River Karez" featuring Yo La Tengo, and "I’m On The Team" with Giant Swan, Rabit and Max Tundra.
"lo! Lavendar River Karez" and "I’m On The Team" follow on from Matmos' lead single "No Concept" that featured Clipping and David Grubbs, and arrived at the beginning of July.
Matmos' forthcoming LP is extra long, with a total running time of around three hours. The Consuming Flame: Open Exercises In Group Form sees Matmos collaborate with 99 musicians, including Oneohtrix Point Never, Marisa Anderson, Mouse On Mars, Matthew Herbert and more. There was only one strict rule for the collaborators, they could create whatever they wanted, as long as it sticks to 99 beats per minute.
The Consuming Flame: Open Exercises In Group Form will follow on from Matmos' 2019 album Plastic Anniversary.
