Marissa Nadler announces new album with opening track "Bessie, Did You Make It?"
Marissa Nadler has returned with news of her ninth solo album The Path of the Clouds, and has shared the opener "Bessie, Did You Make It?" as the first outing.
"Bessie, Did You Make It?" is Nadler's first release since May's Instead of Dreaming covers album, and is accompanied by news of The Path of the Clouds, Nadler's first solo album since 2018's For My Crimes.
The Path of the Clouds was written during the pandemic, and is produced by Nadler. Many of the songs were composed on piano (which she learned to play during the pandemic) as opposed to guitar.
Nadler's album includes contributions from Mary Lattimore and Simon Raymonde (Cocteau Twins, Lost Horizons), Milky Burgess, Jesse Chandler (Nadler’s piano teacher and member of Mercury Rev and Midlake), Emma Ruth Rundle and Black Mountain’s Amber Webber.
