Marina & The Diamonds unveils "Froot" lyric video
Marina & The Diamonds is sharing the lyric video for her single "Froot" head of the release of her new album.
Gabriel Marques has animated the video, which takes various photos from the Welsh singer-songwriter's album campaign, and whizzes them through a blender of rainbows, disco balls and a fruit bowl.
The original video for "Froot" premiered on Best Fit alongside our interview with Marina. Speaking about the single, Diamandis said that the track is "a wildcard."
"I think a lot of people assume it's about sex, but it's not. Strictly. Most of it is not. It's really about being ready for happiness, and being ready to love somebody, and being fully-realised as a person. I like that it's a really positive message to start on. I needed that. It would've been easy to go with something like "Happy", which is a ballad and kind of stripping everything back to its bare bones, and I felt like that would be predictable."
FROOT is out 16 March via Atlantic - the date has been brought forward from the original 6 April slot.
