Lucy Rose returns with "Find Myself"
"So far this year has been the craziest, most unexpected year of my life," says Lucy Rose on 2016.
She began the year with her first ever acoustic dates around the UK, which she undertook to fund a tour with City and Colour around Europe. There were shows across India; in Bombay, Delhi and Bangalore. But the crowning jewel was eight weeks travelling around Latin America, living with her fans and playing music for free nearly every night. Rose documented that trip on Best Fit. "[It] feels like a year of the impossible being made possible," she tells us.
Spending much of 2016 playing solo has inevitably left its mark on her. "I feel like I've really reconnected with my acoustic guitar and writing songs that I can play solo," she explains - and the first song from Rose's pared-down approach is the tender and lifting "Find Myself".
"I think it's pretty clear what the message is of this song, so I won't go into details," Rose says, "but I truly feel back on track with a new love for music again, ready to make the best record I've made yet (fingers crossed)."
The song's release comes via a live clip from Headphone Sessions, who capture stripped back organic musical performances recorded with 3D binaural audio. "Put your headphones on when you listen," Rose advises. "It's a binaural experience so you'll be hearing the exact sounds James from Headphone Sessions was when he was filming as he had two microphones in each ear recording the sound."
