Lucy Rose looks to '70s TV specials for the visuals for new single "No Good At All"
Lucy Rose is sharing her visuals for latest single "No Good At All", another brilliant preview of upcoming record Something's Changing.
The super-smooth new offering, which joins with "Is This Called Home?" and "Floral Dresses" to preview the new record, is paired with dazzling retro shots and shades.
"The idea for this video actually came about when we were in the studio recording ‘No Good At All’ for the album," Rose tells us. "This song in particular came out with a strong '70s vibe and we jokingly said that if this one ever became a single and we ended up making a video for it we should totally do something that channels Karen Carpenter, a Midnight Special-style take. I did some research looking back through all these old '70s TV performances with full band set-ups and was fascinated by them. I remember watching shows like this when I was growing up."
The video reunites Rose with Dutshouse, who produced her Danny Dyer-starring visuals for "Nebraska".
Rose will head out on tour this year for a lengthy run of shows - there are European stops, including dates at London's Rio Cinema and Paris' Cine XIII, as well as trips to Argentina, Chile, Mexico, India, The Philippines, and Singapore. Find out more details.
Rose is no stranger to travelling - the album's companion documentary focuses on her South and Central American jaunt last year that saw her tour a number of countries playing free shows and staying with fans. During her time away Rose compiled an in-depth tour diary for us.
