Love Record Stores Day announce Tim Burgess as 2020 ambassador
Tim Burgess has been announced as the ambassador for this year's Love Record Stores Day, which takes place next month.
The Love Record Stores campaign launched in March, and encourages people to still shop for music online from their favourite independent record stores.
Burgess was announced as the ambassador for Love Record Stores Day, which will take place on 20 June, the same date that Record Store Day was moved to before being rescheduled again and split over three days later this year.

According to Music Week, Love Recors Stores Day will also include some exclusive releases, similar to RSD. Organisers have already confirmed releases from Oasis, Caribou, Belle and Sebastian, Arctic Monkeys, Beach House, Robyn, New Order, Jungle, John Grant and more.
With Burgess as ambassador for this year's event, he will be curating a 24-hour virtual party to celebrate the day, which will see a variety of livetsream performances and DJ sets, Q+A's, reading sessions, and more.
He says of the importance of record shops, "The idea of what we would do without physical record shops has been a question we’ve asked in the past, but now it’s looking more possible than ever and we need to do whatever we can to help. Record shops are like drop in therapy centres for me - there’s a calmness, a familiarity and a sense of belonging that I don’t feel in many other places. A chance to talk with like-minded people – and maybe be reminded that you didn’t know as much about music as you thought you did. Like an animal threatened with extinction, we need to organise ourselves to try and stop it happening. Record shops have been good to me since I first ever spent time on my own – they’ve been good to us, let’s do what we can to help."
