Record Store Day rescheduled to run across three days in August, September and October
Record Store Day has rescheduled its 2020 event again, announcing three new dates in August, September, and October.
Last month, Record Store Day pulled its original April date and rescheduled the vinyl celebration day to June due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic.
Due to the uncertainty of when the lockdown will ease, organisers have decided to move the event again to encourage social distancing, this time spreading different releases across three days in three separate months.
They write in a Twitter thread, "The official titles will now be available from record shops on one of the following RSD Drop dates: 29.8.20, 26.9.20, 24.10.20. A new version of "The List" with assigned release dates and details on how to get RSD releases will be launched on 1st June."
Organisers add, "This current #RSD20 plan to spread the spotlight and the support over three months was devised by the global coordinators to give the largest number of stores a chance to participate in what will be a very unusual Record Store Day."
