Liz Phair returns with first single of 2021 "Hey Lou"
Liz Phair is back with her first new single since 2019, "Hey Lou", and the accompanying video features puppets of Lou Reed and Laurie Anderson.
"Hey Lou" is Phair's first outing since 2019's "Good Side". The track, produced by longtime collaborator Brad Wood, is also accompanied by a Toben Seymour-directed video that features puppets of Lou Reed and Laurie Anderson.
Phair says of her new single, "Have you ever wondered what love looks like for your favorite celebrity couple behind closed doors? "Hey Lou" imagines a day in the life of two music legends, whose union was an inspiration for rock bands and a source of curiosity for die hard romantics."
This year Phair is due to release her first new album in a decade, Soberish. It'll follow 2010's Funstyle album.
Alongside releasing "Hey Lou", Phair has announced a ticketed livestream event for 3 March, which will see Phair perform a variety of new and old tracks, and will be joined by Brad Wood. Find out more.
