Listen to "White Light", Shura's phenomenal seven-and-a-half minute new single
Shura has just unveiled "White Light", her latest single, as Annie Mac's Hottest Record In The World (a title that evidently couldn't be more fitting).
Stretching well over seven minutes, it's a lengthy jam that works Shura's '80s-inspired synth-R&B together with beaty psych threads. The result is a hypnotic piece of dancefloor noise that's poised to cement Shura as a force to be reckoned with in mainstream pop.
According to the press release, the track "started out about Shura’s twin brother, before picking up the sci-fi thread which runs through her visuals to describe an alien first glimpsed in the Mass Effect game... ultimately, though, "White Light" is simply about being different... embracing the social weirdness which actually makes you unique."
The new single is released 20 July.
