Listen to a new Marika Hackman tune called "Animal Fear"
Marika Hackman is showcasing her new single "Animal Fear" ahead of the release of debut album We Slept At Last. It arrives the day after our mesmerising session with Hackman dropped - you can watch that here.
Along with "Animal Fear", a hypnotic psych-folk cut that straddles the worlds of horror and charm, Hackman has unveiled her plans for the artistic accompaniment to her record.
All physical copies of We Slept At Last will be come with with a 24-page art booklet containing "a series of poetic and powerful images by Californian-born photographer Glen Erler, that are inspired by and resonate with the same dark narrative as We Slept At Last". To celebrate the album's release, Hackman will be showcasing the full collection of images at Camden’s Cob Gallery on 18 February, and then performing the record in full with her band. Tickets for that are here, though strictly limited to 70.
Hackman's hugely-anticipated LP We Slept At Last will finally arrive 16 February via Dirty Hit, after a string of lauded EPs and singles tantalised our palates in 2014.
