Le Ren and Buck Meek join forces on cover of Gordon Lightfoot’s "Early Morning Rain"
Le Ren and Big Thief guitarist Buck Meek have teamed up to release a cover of Gordon Lightfoot's "Early Morning Rain".
Montreal-based musician Le Ren has shared a tender cover of Lightfoot's "Early Morning Rain" today (25 February) that features Buck Meek.
The cover follows Le Ren's October 2020 singles "It's Time I Played a Love Song" and "I Did U Wrong".
The "Early Morning Rain" cover also marks Meek's first outing since his solo album Two Saviors landed last month.
Le Ren says of the cover, "To me, this song encapsulates missing someone. As many people are separated right now, it felt like the right moment to cover it. Buck and I recorded it in two different countries across time and space so in turn, the production reflects the song itself."
