Lana Del Rey has delayed the arrival of her new spoken word album after "family mementos” were stolen over the Christmas holidays.

Last month, Norman Fucking Rockwell singer Lana Del Rey announced plans to release a "freestyle poetry" spoken word album in January.

The record was expected to arrive on 4 January, but on Saturday (4 January), Lana Del Rey revealed that it would be delayed after her family were robbed over Christmas.

On Saturday (4 January), Lana Del Rey wrote on Twitter, "Hoping everyone had a great New Years, gonna wait for about a month to put out Violet since we lost about nine days with everything going on – it’s an interesting project though, looking forward to having it out x."

The singer/songwriter is also due to release a hand-bound poetry book. In March 2019, Lana Del Rey gave an update on Violet Bent Backwards Over the Grass, and shared one poem titled Quiet Waiter-Blue Forever.

Lana Del Rey will play London's O2 Arena on 25 February. Find out more.
