Lana Del Rey goes back to her 'gangster Nancy Sinatra' roots on new single
Lana Del Rey has shared new single "Coachella - Woodstock In My Mind", a hip-hop inspired taste of new record Lust For Life.
The song, written in a sequoia grove on the way home from Coachella, was given a tease last month. In this polished edition it's transported from folksy roots to the Born To Die-era "gangster Nancy Sinatra" that Del Rey swanned into our lives with.
"I'm not gonna lie - I had complex feelings about spending the weekend dancing whilst watching tensions w[ith] North Korea mount," Lana Del Rey wrote on Instagram at the time of teasing. "I find it’s a tightrope between being vigilantly observant of everything going on in the world and also having enough space and time to appreciate God’s good earth the way it was intended to be appreciated."
"Coachella - Woodstock In My Mind" follows lead single "Love" and Weeknd collab/title track "Lust For Life" in teasing Del Rey's upcoming record.
Del Rey has a busy summer of festivalling ahead, with dates at Way Out West, Flow Festival, and Øya among those confirmed. Check out her full schedule on Songkick.
