In the build-up to her new album release, Lana Del Rey had been booked to play the Late Show this week, but sadly was forced to cancel. Instead, Letterman called on his old friend Elvis Costello to fill in.
Costello ran through new track “The Last Year Of My Youth” ahead of a headline show at Carnegie Hall later this month.
Fun fact: Costello is the only musician to host an episode of the Late Show, filling in for an ill Letterman 11 years ago. What a pal, eh?
