Kevin Parker says new Tame Impala album will be done "sooner than what has been the pattern for me"
Kevin Parker has revealed that the next Tame Impala album will be done "sooner than what has been the pattern for me".
Ahead of releasing The Slow Rush Deluxe Box Set this Friday (18 February), Kevin Parker spoke to The Sydney Morning Herald about fatherhood and new music.
When asked if he has any collaborations with big artists in the works, Parker responded, "Yes totally, I mean, aargh … hopefully. In the world of songwriting and collaborative releases, nothing is certain till it’s literally released. Working with pop artists, there are so many moving parts and something could look like it’s gonna happen and then it doesn’t, it gets pulled or something. So in that sense you can never be certain, which is also part of the fun of it."
He also said that he'll have "another Tame Impala album done sooner than what has been the pattern for me," after the five-year wait between Currents and The Slow Rush.
Parker added, "Tame Impala is always in my mind, always there, so I wanna do one soon. Obviously now, I’ve got more dimensions to me making music than I ever have, between producing and songwriting and everything, but Tame Impala will always be something more special to me than anything else and the thing I put the most love into."
