Kendrick Lamar deepfakes Kanye West and more in video for surprise track "The Heart Part 5"
Kendrick Lamar has surprise-released his new single "The Heart Part 5", which lands with a video that sees Lamar deepfake Kanye West, Nipsey Hussle and more.
With just a few days to go until Kendrick Lamar releases his new album Mr. Morale & The Big Steppers, Lamar treated fans to a surprise release, "The Heart Part 5".
The new single is Lamar's first outing since appearing on Terrace Martin's Drones album title-track with Snoop Dogg, Ty Dolla $ign and James Fauntleroy in November last year, and is accompanied by a trippy video directed by Dave Free and Lamar, which sees Lamar deepfake Kanye West, Nipsey Hussle, Will Smith, Kobe Bryant, OJ Simpson and Jussie Smollett.
Deep Voodoo, the studio created by South Park creators Trey Parker and Matt Stone, are credited for the deepfake work in the video. Back in January it was reported that Lamar and Dave Free were working with the South park creators on a new live-action comedy.
The new song is produced by Beach Noise, and appears to sample Marvin Gaye's "I Want You".
Mr. Morale & The Big Steppers will follow 2017's DAMN.. Lamar is yet to share a tracklist for the album, but fans reckon it could be a double album after Lamar shared an image of two CDs on his oklama site last week.
