Producer Kelly Lee Owens has covered Aaliyah's 2001 anthem "More Than A Woman" and then remixed that same cover.
Both new offerings, which follow up Owens' self-titled debut record, will be on a new 12" coming out next month.
"My love and respect for Aaliyah as an artist/vocalist and Timbaland as a producer increased tenfold as I picked the track apart and understood how intricate and layered everything was," Owens says. "The remix of my cover was something I wanted to write and produce that gave the original track new life, and also gave people a sense of power - it’s unapologetic."
The new 12" is out 8 December via Smalltown Supersound.
