Kacey Musgraves responds to star-crossed being excluded from Best Country Album Grammy Award
Kacey Musgraves has responded to her star-crossed album being excluded from the Best Country Album Grammy Award.
Earlier this week it was revealed that Musgraves' recent star-crossed album was deemed ineligible for the Best Country Album Grammy Award, despite her 2018 album Golden Hour winning three Grammy Awards tied to the country genre.
Confirmation of Musgraves' star-crossed album being excluded came from a letter written by Universal Music Group Nashville president Cindy Mabe, addressed to Recording Academy CEO Harvey Mason Jr., which saw Mabe calling out the decision to make Musgraves' album ineligible.
Last night (13 October) on Twitter, Musgraves shared her response to the decision with a childhood photo of her wearing a cowboy hat, and wrote, "You can take the girl out of the country (genre) but you can’t take the country out of the girl."
