Julien Baker reduces crowd members to tears with her stunning set at End of the Road

There are perhaps few artists that encapsulate the traditional End of the Road vibe more than Julien Baker, a queer Tennessee folk singer with an unrivalled gift at evoking emotional catharsis, and a remarkable late-afternoon set on the Garden Stage showcased her talents to the fore.
Playing half the set solo, and half with just a violinist to accompany her, the purity of her voice noticeably reduced more than one audience member to tears, and reaffirmed her position as one of the most significant singer/songwriters of our generation.
End of the Road continues on Saturday 1 September with headline sets from Vampire Weekend and Oh Sees.
