Joy Division's Unknown Pleasures art is gonna be a Christmas card
The artwork for Joy Division's seminal LP Unknown Pleasures is set to be one of Oxfam's six Christmas cards this year.
The band and artist Peter Saville, who designed the original cover, have donated the work.
Raqib Shaw and Michael Craig-Martin have also offered pieces to be used. Grayson Perry, Adam Dant, and Bob and Roberta Smith have created special designs for the cards.
Perry's card is titled 'Inoffensive Design' - he says that he agreed to design a card “because Oxfam is like another word for good.”
As well as the cards, there will be original artworks by Perry, the Smiths, and Dant being auctioned to raise funds for Oxfam.
This year's Christmas cards go on sale on 17 October.
