Jessica Pratt announces new album with first single "This Time Around"

"This Time Around" is the first single to be shared from Jessica Pratt's third album Quiet Signs.

Jessica Pratt's new single "This Time Around" is a lullaby offering, fitting for the title of her upcoming Quiet Signs record.

Quiet Signs will be Pratt's first album in four years, after 2015's On Your Own Love Again.

Speaking about her new record, Pratt explains, "On some level I considered an audience while making the last record, but my creative world was still very private then and I analysed the process less. This was the first time I approached writing with the idea of a cohesive record in mind."

The new album is Pratt's first to be recorded in a professional studio. Having been written in LA, Pratt then recorded the record at Gary's Electric in Brooklyn, NYC. Al Carlson (Weyes Blood, Zola Jesus, Quilt), who contributed some flute, organ and piano playing to the album, also co-produced Quiet Signs. Matt McDermott also contributes piano and string synthesiser.

"This Time Around" is available now. Quiet Signs arrives on 8 February via City Slang. Jessica Pratt plays London's St Matthias Church on 7 November before heading to the US with Kurt Vile & The Violators. Find out more.
