Jeff Tweedy announces new album, shares lead single "Some Birds"
Wilco's Jeff Tweedy previews new solo album WARM with new track "Some Birds".
WARM is the name of Jeff Tweedy's forthcoming solo album, which is produced and recorded by Tweedy at Chicago’s The Loft studios.
"Some Birds" is the first cut to be shared from Tweedy's forthcoming solo offering. He describes the new track as "like a lot of songs on WARM, being a confrontation between self and shadow self simultaneously feeling I'm to blame and not to blame, present and gone, and utterly confused, but determined to hold someone accountable.”
The new track comes with accompanying visuals directed by Seth Henrikson, who explains, "When I got the call to collaborate with Jeff on the video for ‘Some Birds’ it was a thrill and an honor. The concept for the video naturally highlights Jeff’s amazing song writing and lyrical genius. However, it also exploits another of Jeff’s gifts - his uncanny sense of men’s fashion and hairstyles. I’m excited to share it with Tweedy fans!”
WARM is the first release from Tweedy since last year's Together At Last, and Wilco's 2016 album Schmilco.
Jeff Tweedy is also releasing his memoir later this year. LET’S GO (SO WE CAN GET BACK), which explores his musical processes and his career straight from his own mind. Find out more.
