Japanese Breakfast brings out Jeff Tweedy for two songs at Pitchfork Music Festival
At Pitchfork Music Festival in Chicago over the weekend, Japanese Breakfast brought out Jeff Tweedy to perform two songs - "Kokomo, IN" and Wilco's "Jesus Etc.".
Just over a year ago, Wilco's Jeff Tweedy opened an episode of his IGTV series The Tweedy Show with a cover of Japanese Breakfast's Jubilee song "Kokomo, IN", and Japanese Breakfast's Michelle Zauner called it "mind blowing".
During her set at Pitchfork Music Festival in Chicago over the weekend, Zauner was joined by Tweedy to duet on "Kokomo, IN", and they also covered Wilco's Yankee Foxtrot Hotel song "Jesus, Etc.".
Between the two songs, Zauner said that Tweedy is her "favourite songwriter of all time," and said it was "such an honour" to have Tweedy join her. Watch below from the 32:41 mark.
