Jack Flanagan releases new single "Gravy Train" with video illustrated by Blaine Harrison
Jack Flanagan has delivered another cut from his debut solo album Rides The Sky titled "Gravy Train", which is accompanied by a video featuring drawings by Mystery Jets bandmate Blaine Harrison.
"Gravy Train" is the third preview of Flanagan's debut solo album, following earlier outings "Curses" and "Skyhorse X Skyhorse", and is teamed with a video that features drawings by Mystery Jets' bandmate Blaine Harrison, and is animated by Hannah Thomas.
Flanagan says of the new single, "Late nights, addled mindsets, hedonism, eating disorders and inflated ego - all of these things went into "Gravy Train". I had just broken up with my first girlfriend and was mentally all over the place. I was feeling pretty open to anything at the time. The line about my sexuality "can’t decide if I’m straight or gay" is laced with sarcasm. To me sexuality isn’t that dumb. It was about looking at everybody around me and taking them at face value. Romantically and platonically. Male or female."
Rides The Sky features 12 tracks written over the last decade.
