J. Cole wants fans to stop making "platinum with no features" memes
J. Cole has had the "platinum with no features" memes following him around for the past few years and now wants it to stop.
In a new interview with GQ, J. Cole has shared his thoughts on the "platinum with no features" memes.
His most recent album, 2018's KOD, went platinum just before Christmas, making it the third album of his to go platinum without any collaborations.
Speaking to GQ, J. Cole said, "I was loving it. I was like, "Word up—this is funny as hell". But the second or third time, I was like, "All right, it's almost embarrassing now". Like, "All right, man, y'all gonna make me put a feature on the album just so this shit can stop"."
Expanding on features for the future, he said, "Well, I don't have any right now that I really want to boast about. Not saying it's impossible. It's just about getting out of my comfort zone."
In January J. Cole broke his album release cycle with standalone single "Middle Child".
