Hyundai Mercury Prize confirms dates for 2020
The Hyundai Mercury Prize has announced its dates for 2020, despite the ongoing coronavirus pandemic.
Organisers are planning to host the awards show at Hammersmith's Eventim Apollo on 10 September if social distancing restrictions will allow it to go ahead, and the 12 albums shortlisted for this year's award will be announced on 23 July.
Both Hyundai Mercury Prize and BBC Music believe it's important for the event to still go ahead despite the current circumstances with the pandemic to showcase and celebrate the achievements of British and Irish artists.
