Halsey to star in new film National Anthem with Euphoria's Sydney Sweeney
Halsey is set to star in Tony Tost's directorial debut National Anthem alongside Euphoria's Sydney Sweeney and more.
National Anthem will be Tony Tost's directorial debut, and Deadline reports that the poet and screenwriter's new film will star Halsey, Sydney Sweeney, Paul Walter Hauser, Simon Rex, Toby Huss, Gavin Maddox Bergman, Harriet Sansom Harris and more.
The upcoming film, which is based around a hunt for a valuable rare Lakota ghost shirt, will be Halsey's first acting role since starring in If I Can't Have Love, I Want Power, the Colin Tilley-directed film that accompanied her albumm of the same name, and voicing Porsha Crystal in Sing 2.
Deadline also notes that National Anthem will be the second on-screen project with Sweeney, after being cast in The Players Table, an adaptation of Jessica Goodman’s novel They Wish They Were Us.
Tost said of the film, "I am truly honored to have the opportunity to bring National Anthem to life on film, and to work with Page Fifty-Four Pictures, Bron Studios and this incredible cast. I’m especially thrilled to be bringing to the screen a vision of modern rural America that pays tribute to the myths of the West while also radically reinventing them."
