The new single explores expectations put on women in society, and arrives with a gritty video directed by Hannah Lux Davis, which also features Cara Delevingne, Debbie Harry, and Suki Waterhouse.

Offering some words about her new single on socials, Halsey wrote, "imagine getting onstage every night and seeing young women sweating mascara tears, lightning in their eyes, throwing elbows and raising fists, screaming till the veins in their necks raise under warm skin, and not being inspired by it. This song is about you, for you."

"Nightmare" is Halsey's first single since teaming up with BTS on "Boy With Luv".

Halsey's new single "Nightmare" is out now. She plays Capital's Summertime Ball 2019 at London's Wembley Stadium on 8 June. Find out more.
