Grimes exhibits mixtape featuring Shonen Knife, Aphex Twin, Tei Shi, and more
Canadian producer Grimes - aka Claire Boucher - shared a new mixtape on the latest episode of Radio 3’s Late Junction show.
The mix includes a palate of sounds from across the alt-pop spectrum, from associate HANA to veterans Animal Collective - whose deep cut “We Tigers” closes the half-hour mix.
“I tried to include a mix of weird stuff that I like that’s old, and some newer stuff I love that inspires me, and all-time favourite songs...” says Grimes, providing an eclectic tracklisting spanning that touches on everything from Indian cinema soundtracks to alternative UK dance.
Grimes’ latest record - the Polaris Prize-shortlisted Art Angels - came out on 4AD in November 2015.
The mixtape, which appeared on Verity Sharp’s broadcast last night, is available to listen to below. Check out the full track listing afterwards.
