Gorillaz team with Mercury winner Benjamin Clementine on anti-Trump comeback single
Gorillaz are bloody back - here's "Hallelujah Money", the first single from their new album, featuring Mercury Prize winner Benjamin Clementine.
The track, a gospel-infused offering light on the warped hip-hop vibes of Gorillaz's past, is the first single from the band's long-awaited new album they've been teasing for bloody ages.
The accompanying video is directed by Gorillaz and Giorgio Testi. It sees Clementine singing from what looks suspiciously like Trump Tower's gaudy gold lobby.
The blurb on YouTube adds some context: "Gorillaz returns after six years with the apocalyptic 'Hallelujah Money' video, the first taste of their new record which is coming later this year. The band has issued this song on the eve of the Inauguration of President-Elect Donald Trump to serve as commentary on a politically-charged, historical moment. #wearestillhumanz"
