
Glasgow to host this year's BBC 6 Music Festival
The city of Glasgow will be hosting this year's BBC 6 Music Festival, which takes place 24-26 March.
The lineup is being revealed this morning by Lauren Laverne, who's broadcasting live from the Scottish city - expect an eclectic mix of big names and up-and-coming stars across a range of venues in the city.
Friday night's festivities will feature Dutch Uncles, Cate Le Bon, Sleaford Mods, Girl Ray, Warpaint, Ride, Future Islands, The Jesus and Mary Chain, Sparks, Goldfrapp, and others.
The Saturday lineup includes Bonobo, Haley Bonar, The Lemon Twigs, Loyle Carner, Sacred Paws, Car Seat Headrest, Thundercat, Grandaddy, The Shins, Honeyblood, Sinkane, Temples, Mogwai's Stuart Braithwaite, Edwyn Collins in conversation with Stuart Maconie (and acoustic session), Limmy, and more.
Sunday will see performances from Depeche Mode, Father John Misty, Julia Jacklin, Unkle (DJ), The Wedding Present, Forest Swords, Jesca Hoop, Holly Macve, Whitney, Anna Meredith in conversation with Mary Anne Hobbs, Belle and Sebastian in conversation with Cerys Matthews, and loads more.
The festival took place in Bristol last year, and featured performances from Foals, Hinds, Daughter, Savages, Bloc Party, Beirut, Laura Marling, Everything Everything, BEAK>, John Grant, and loads more. Manchester and Tyneside have also been previous hosts of the BBC 6 Music Festival.
