Field Music announce sixth record Open Here, detail huge UK tour
Field Music have announced their sixth studio record Open Here and announced a new UK tour for early next year.
The Brewis Brothers have also shared a new minute-long trailer featuring wonky snippets of noise.
Field Music are still putting the finishing touches to the LP, which follows up 2016's Commontime. It includes contributions from a wide array of names, including Sarah Hayes on flute and piccolo, Liz Corney on vocals, Pete Fraser on saxophone, Simon Dennis on trumpet and flugelhorn, the Cornshed Sisters, and past collaborators/string players Ed Cross, Jo Montgomery, Chrissie Slater and Ele Leckie.
"Where Commontime felt like a distillation of all of the elements that make up Field Music, this feels like an expansion," says David Brewis. "As if we’re pushing in every direction at once to see how far we can go."
Field Music are set to tour the UK from February next year, with three nights at Newcastle's Northern Stage kicking off proceedings. The tour takes them across the UK, with a show at London's Barbican with the Open Here Orchestra rounding off the tour in May. Find out all the details.
