The Theory of Everything - Jóhann Jóhannsson
The Imitation Game - Alexandre Desplat
Mr. Turner - Gary Yershon
Jóhann Jóhannsson created an exclusive Track By Track guide to his score for us recently, which you can read here.
Somehow The Lego Movie got royally snubbed from the Best Animated Film category, but as a wee consolation, they're scooped a few other nods. One is Best Original Song - which Tegan & Sara and The Lonely Island perform.
Yes, The Lonely Island are up for an Oscar for Best Original Song. The guys who wrote such lyrical heavyweights as "Dick In A Box" and "Jizz In My Pants" are up for an Oscar in the songwriting category. It's unlikely they'll win however, as Common x John Legend are already frontrunners for the prize.
Watch "Everything Is Awesome" below. By all accounts, it is indeed awesome.
