Es Devlin and Yinka Ilori to co-design BRITs trophy for 2021
Details on the creative team for this year's BRIT Awards have been revealed, and will see Es Devlin OBE and Yinka Ilori MBE co-design this year's BRITs trophy.
The UK’s biggest music awards show has announced their new team leading the BRITs Committee and details for the coveted Rising Star Award.
The 2021 BRIT Awards has already been postponed until May due to the coronavirus pandemic, and today (15 February) it's been revealed that Universal Music UK’s Rebecca Allen (President, EMI Records) and Selina Webb (Executive Vice President of Universal Music UK) will lead the BRITs Committee.
Es Devlin OBE and Yinka Ilori MBE have been confirmed as the designers and creative directors for this year's BRITs, and are collaborating on the 2021 BRITs trophy design. Last year's BRIT Awards were designed by Sir David Adjaye, following 2018's red statue award made by Sir Anish Kapoor, and 2017's trophy designed by the late Dame Zaha Hadid.
Allen and Webb say of the 2021 BRITs team, "However the world is looking come May, our ambition is not for a "normal" BRITs but a show which truly reflects the spirit of the past year. Working alongside the 2021 BRITS Committee, we have an exceptional creative team with Sally, Es and Yinka to deliver the best and most exciting show possible - a BRITs about collaboration, culture and community as well as a celebration of some of the brilliant music which is helping us all through."
Voting for the BRIT Rising Star Award, which replaced the Critics’ Choice Award, will open on 24 February and will close on 5 March.
