EOB unveils fresh solo single "Olympik"
Radiohead's Ed O'Brien is back with "Olympik", a third taster of his forthcoming EOB album Earth.
"Olympik" is the first EOB single since O'Brien revealed he had been experiencing "flu-like symptoms for a number of days now.. It is most probably the coronavirus."
He gave an update earlier this week via Instagram. In the clip, he said, "I just want to say I’m better. Thank you to everybody who sent such love and lovely messages. I’m really fine now. I had it for about two weeks. I didn’t get tested but I’m pretty certain it was it [coronavirus]."
The new single is co-produced by Flood and Catherine Marks, engineered by Adam ‘Cecil’ Bartlett (additional engineering by Richie Kennedy), and mixed by Alan Moulder.
"Olympik" follows on from previous Earth singles "Shangri-La" and "Brasil".
The album was written and recorded over five years during the creation and touring of Radiohead’s A Moon Shaped Pool album.
It'll feature contributions from bassist Nathan East, drummers Omar Hakim and Glenn Kotche, The Invisible’s David Okumu, Portishead’s Adrian Utley, and Laura Marling.
