Elvis Costello shares new song "Newspaper Pane"
Elvis Costello is back with new song "Newspaper Pane", the fifth taster of his forthcoming album Hey Clockface.
"Newspaper Pane" lands after earlier releases "Hey Clockface / How Can You Face Me?", "We Are All Cowards Now", "Hetty O’Hara Confidential" and "No Flag".
The new song was written and produced in New York with Michael Leonhart and guitarist Bill Frisell. The track was then mixed by Sebastian Krys at LA's Bigtop Studio.
Hey Clockface will follow on from Costello's 2018 album Look Now with The Imposters. The new LP was recorded between Helsinki, Paris and New York.
Expanding on the record, Costello adds, "I wanted the record to be vivid, whether the songs demanded playing that was loud and jagged or intimate and beautiful."
Back in August Costello released the "We Are All Cowards Now" b-side "Phonographic Memory".
