Ed O'Brien of Radiohead unveils first solo single "Santa Teresa"

Radiohead's Ed O'Brien has unveiled his debut solo single "Santa Teresa".

After teasing new music last weekend, Radiohead guitarist Ed O'Brien has today revealed his first solo single "Santa Teresa".

Back in 2016, O'Brien revealed that he was planning to start working on his solo record, which was inspired by his time in Brazil.

During his appearance on The Pedal Show in April, O'Brien revealed that he's planning to release the record by September 2019, and has been working with producers Flood and Catherine Marks.

The guitarist also revealed that he has been working with a full live band, consisting of Dave Okumu, bassist Nathan East, and drummer Omar Hakim, who featured on David Bowie's "Let's Dance".

During his interview on The Pedal Show, O'Brien spoke about his new music and whether it has a connection to Radiohead material, "You’ll make a little connection. There will be textures. There’s quite a lot of depth it. It’s a little bit magical realist, slightly psychedelic, a lot of colour."

Last month Radiohead bandmate Jonny Greenwood launched his own classical music label Octatonic. The first two releases will arrive on 25 October.

EOB's (Ed O'Brien) "Santa Teresa" single is out now. There's currently no release date for Ed O'Brien's solo album.
