Ebenezer returns with new song "Melanin"
Ebenezer has shared his new song "Melanin" on Juneteenth.
"Melanin" is Ebenezer's first new track since his Bad Romantic II EP dropped in March.
The new track is focused on the ongoing Black Lives Matter protests, and makes reference to the racial injustice black people experience from police, "I thank God I'm alive / Sick of watchin' my people die / Look at how they take a life / They go on the record and lie."
In the same verse, Ebenezer raps, "Do we gotta bleed? / Until it's right in the streets / For somebody to notice that we still ain't free / How many times you heard it? I cannot breathe / When we get stopped by police."
On Instagram, Ebenezer wrote of the song, "Melanin out now... I see the protest have died down but let’s not stop the good work and positive change we are all trying to make."
Earlier this week, Ebenezer revealed he produced Ashnikko's new Grimes collaboration "Cry".
