Doves cancel tour dates due to Jimi Goodwin's mental health
Doves have shared a statement on socials revealing their decision to cancel all their upcoming tour dates due to frontman Jimi Goodwin's mental health.
Doves were due to tour the UK and Ireland in March and April 2022 in support of their comeback album The Universal Want, but this morning (22 October) the band shared two statemens on socials detailing their decision to cancel all their live shows.
In the band statement, Doves wrote that they're "gutted" to cancel their tour dates, and that it's "news we are finding incredibly difficult to put into words."
Doves' statement added, "We have to take each other's welfare as seriously as the music, and, sadly, mental health issues simply mean that performing live isn't possibly for us at this time or for the immediate future."
Frontman Jimi Goodwin also shared his own statement, in which he revealed that the decision to cancel the dates is "not something I've taken lightly".
He continued, "One should never apologise for having issues with their mental health, but I do want to say 'sorry' to all that have bought tickets."
Statements from the band and Jimi.
