Dolly Parton sings vaccine version of "Jolene" before getting first dose of vaccine she helped fund
Dolly Parton performed a brief vaccine rework of her huge hit "Jolene" before receiving the first dose of the Moderna COVID-19 vaccine that she helped to fund.
Yesterday (2 March) saw country icon Dolly Parton receive the first dose of the COVID-19 Moderna vaccine, which she helped fund by contributing a huge sum of money towards research last year.
Before getting the first jab, Parton encouraged everyone to get the vaccine by singing a vaccine rework of her huge hit "Jolene", "Vaccine, vaccine, vaccine, vaccine / I’m begging of you please don’t hesitate / Vaccine, vaccine, vaccine, vaccine / Because once you’re dead then that’s a bit too late."
Despite being excited to get her first dose of the vaccine, Parton expressed that she was being "dead serious" about the vaccine, and added, "I just wanted to encourage everybody [to get the vaccine] because the sooner we get to feeling better, the sooner we are gonna get back to being normal."
She also directed a message to "all the cowards out there", saying, "Don't be such a chicken squat. Get out there and get your shot."
