Django Django head to the dancefloor with heady new number "In Your Beat"
Django Django have lifted the lid on '90s dance-flecked belter "In Your Beat", a new preview of upcoming LP Marble Skies.
The new tune kicks off with retro blips and bloops and swelling electronics ripped straight from the pure shores of Ibiza, but it quickly blooms into a jagged, squirming take on Django Django's addictive art-pop bliss. The song's accompanying visuals feature direction from SKG (Sophie Koko-Gate) and art direction from Brodie Kaman.
"I found Brodie's work online and was a big fan of his graphic style and his influences from rave flyers and DIY punk aesthetics," explains drummer/producer Dave Maclean. "I had the idea that we could make his posters into a video and bring them to life. He was into the idea so we brought Sophie on board to animate his mocked up posters and bring the band into his 2D poster world."
"In Your Beat" follows lead single "Tic Tac Toe", and both tease the follow up to 2015's Born Under Saturn LP.
Django Django will play a pair of Rough Trade instores in the new year - including the new Rough Trade Bristol store, which opens in a few weeks. The group also have a run of UK and European shows scheduled for next year, kicking off in Dundee on 26 February and ending in Bristol on 24 March. Find out the full details.
