Dev Hynes confirms new Blood Orange record is finished
Blood Orange's fourth album Negro Swan is ready to be signed, sealed and delivered to the public next month.
Dev Hynes, aka Blood Orange, has revealed via Instagram that album four is finished.
On his Instagram teaser, the music is euphoric and like a sumer haze, allowing the guitars and synths to ripple overwhelmingly, reiterating Blood Orange's return.
Today he revealed the name and release date for the album, and explained the roots of his forthcoming release, "My newest album is an exploration into my own and many types of black depression, an honest look at the corners of black existence, and the ongoing anxieties of queer/people of color. A reach back into childhood and modern traumas, and the things we do to get through it all. The underlying thread through each piece on the album is the idea of HOPE, and the lights we can try to turn on within ourselves with a hopefully positive outcome of helping others out of their darkness.”
