Dev Hynes and Neneh Cherry team up for new song "He She Me"
Dev Hynes and Neneh Cherry have teamed up on a new track called "He She Me".
Directed by Kathryn Ferguson (Selfridges’s resident Film Director) and Alex Turvey, the clip forms part of the store's new Agender Campaign which "looks at gender free fashion". Ryan Heffington - the man behind such clips as "Chandelier" by Sia - choreographed the visuals. Speaking about the video, Ferguson said:
"The film is an evolving journey through a subtle push and pull between masculinity and femininity, captured entirely in one unbroken shot, utilising in-camera camera effects in a world populated by out-scaled physical props inspired by Faye Toogood's in store realisation of Agender. This film has come at a time when important conversations about gender fluidity and non-binary ways of being are finally getting a lot of attention."
It's a strident pop track, stuffed with noir-electro bass and entwined vocal lines, and definitely worth checking out. If you want to know more about the Agender Campaign, head here.
