Death From Above announce third album, describe it as an "anti-boredom manifesto"
Death From Above (RIP 1979) have announced third record Outrage! Is Now and shared roaring new single "Never Swim Alone".
The new LP follows 2014's comeback record The Physical World and recent track "Freeze Me". It was recorded with producer Eric Valentine (Queens Of The Stone Age) in Los Angeles.
"Never Swim Alone"'s accompanying visuals are directed by the band's singer/drummer Sebastien Grainger.
"There’s an absolute chaos and confusion in the world, and people who would otherwise agree on most things seem to be disagreeing on everything," says Grainger. "There’s a lot more space between the poles of opinion and views on the world. It seems like there's a barrier of disgust as we dehumanize one another based on a few slight differences of opinion. The title is an observation of this hyper-sensitivity, which we’re all a part of."
"I hope fans hear the progression," adds the other half of DFA, Jesse Keeler. “This record is very much the result of the environment and experiences of the last five years. If we didn’t have struggle, life would be really fucking boring. These songs are an anti-boredom manifesto.”
