Death Cab For Cutie's Ben Gibbard to cover Teenage Fanclub's Bandwagonesque in full
Death Cab For Cutie frontman Ben Gibbard is covering Bandwagonesque by Teenage Fanclub in full for Sounds Delicious.
Turntable Kitchen’s Sounds Delicious is a new monthly vinyl subscription - Gibbard's covers LP will only be released on vinyl (although customers will get a digital DL code).
“Bandwagonesque is my favourite record by my favourite band of all time,” Gibbard says. “It came along at a pivotal time in my musical life and I’ve loved it for over 25 years. It’s been such a blast taking these songs apart to see how they work and then putting them back together again.”
The series has already signed up a range of major names, including Foxygen's Jonathan Rado, Ava Luna, The Pains Of Being Pure At Heart (with Kristin Kontrol and members of Titus Andronicus), Quilt, Mutual Benefit, Yumi Zouma, GEMS, Salt Cathedral, Skylar Spence, and more.
Gibbard's take on Bandwagonesque will be his first solo record since 2012; his most recent LP with DCFC, Kintsugi, was released in 2015. Teenage Fanclub made a welcome return this year with Here.
