Death Cab For Cutie's Ben Gibbard shares benefit single "Life In Quarantine"
Death Cab For Cutie vocalist Ben Gibbard has shared the studio recording of his new benefit single "Life In Quarantine".
Gibbard first shared "Life In Quarantine" during his acoustic Live From Home stream last week. At the time, he explained that when the song was officially released, he would donate the proceeds to charity.
Today (26 March), the studio version of Gibbard's track has arrived, and he's donating the money to Seattle non-profit Aurora Commons, "a wonderful organization that provides a safe space for people temporarily experiencing homelessness".
Gibbard has been busy hosting daily livestream performances from his home studio while in isolation from COVID-19. Last Sunday (22 March), he performed a complete covers-only set, with songs by Phoebe Bridgers, Elliott Smith, Def Leppard, John Lennon, Bob Dylan, The Shins, and more. He'll do another covers performance this Sunday (29 March).
