David Bowie's rare John Lennon and Bob Dylan covers to be released on limited 7" vinyl
Two previously unreleased covers of Bob Dylan and John Lennon by the late David Bowie will be released for the first time on limited 7" vinyl on what would be his 74th birthday.
To celebrate what would be Bowie's 74th birthday, two previously unreleased covers of John Lennon and Bob Dylan songs will be made available on a very limited number of 7" vinyl.
Bowie recorded his cover of Lennon's "Mother" in 1997 and '98 between Bermuda and Sound On Sound Studios in New York. It was produced by Bowie and Tony Visconti and was intended for a Lennon tribute that never ended up happening.
His version of Dylan's "Tryin' To Get To Heaven" was captured at Looking Glass in New York City in 1998.
The 7" vinyl single is limited to 8147 numbered copies, 1000 of which are cream coloured vinyl, and the remainder on black vinyl.
