Dave Grohl shares immense 23-minute, self-composed track and mini-documentary PLAY
Dave Grohl has revealed his two-part mini-documentary, PLAY, that explores the dedication of giving your life to music, and features a 23-minute epic self-composed instrumental.
The first part of the 35-minute documentary gives an insight into the challenges and rewards that come with dedicating your life to music.
PLAY leaves 23 minutes to present the multi-talented musician's incredible instrumental that sees Grohl play all seven instruments.
The Foo Fighters legend wrote the composition himself and directed the documentary with collaborator Mark Monroe.
Speaking about his new project, Grohl explained, “Watching my kids start to play music and learn to sing or play drums, it brings me back to the time when I was their age listening to albums, learning from
listening… and when I take my kids to the place where they take their lessons, I see these rooms full of children that are really pushing themselves to figure this out. And even now, as a 49-year-old man, I’m still trying to figure it out…it’s not something that you ever truly master. You’re always chasing the next challenge, and you’re always trying to find a way to improve on what you’ve learned.”
Alongside the video is an interactive experience that allows you to see Grohl play one instrument at a time, and can isolate the separate instruments to hear the full audio.
