Daniel Blumberg was joined by Jim White (Dirty Three) for an End Of The Road secret set.
Blumberg and band - completed by Billy Steiger on violin and Tom Wheatley on double bass - played a four-song show. The quartet performed Minus cut "Madder" and new numbers "Gob" and "My Better Me", before ending with a cover of Neil Young's "Like A Hurricane".
"The personality of all the instrumentation is completely reliant on the personalities," Blumberg told Best Fit of the collaboration. "Their playing is closer to vocals, in a sense. It's like a mutual relationship between the instruments."
"I thought everyone had to play a Neil Young song," he adds, of his cover choice. "I don't really do covers very often because we're always covering our own songs, in a sense. We play them in different ways. I love that song. It's a great song. I thought it was quite similar to his, in a way."
